“Vail High School and Academy has windmills and solar panels that generate electricity. It has water harvesting. Classroom day time lighting is from overhead panels eliminating the use of electrical lighting. Some construction and insulation was from recycled materials. Synthetic grass is used instead of landscape grass. The little peoples playground ground is rubberized.”

“The school has been recently constructed to conserve energy and produce enough electricity through the use of solar and wind sources so that the school is completely self-sufficient. This school was designed to be a LEED certified platinum school.”
