Are you sure you know what food security really means and if not, why you might want to learn? And do you want to know how it all ties into climate change? Meet Jennifer Burney,  an environmental scientist who will be able to answer those questions as her research focuses on simultaneously achieving global food security and mitigating climate change. Stay with me! She designs, implements and evaluates technologies for poverty alleviation and agricultural adaptation, and studies the links between “energy poverty” – the lack of access to modern energy services – and food or nutrition security, the mechanisms by which energy services can help alleviate poverty, the environmental impacts of food production and consumption, and climate impacts on agriculture. I will have lots of homework to do to prepare for this show. Join me to see if I am up to the task! This show made possible due to the generous support of the Chapman Automotive Group.
