The United States faces a number of challenges in the 21st century as a result of our antiquated energy system—dependence on imported oil, global climate change, and threats to our economic competitiveness, to name a few. Transitioning to a more sustainable energy infrastructure will require an enormous amount of innovation by American scientists and entrepreneurs over the next few decades. Dr. Arun Majumdar, director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy for the U.S. Department of Energy, will discuss the need for energy innovation and how it can help rejuvenate American economic leadership.
This free discussion with Dr. Majumdar will take place at Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona on Friday, October 15, at 7 PM.
