Mary Lou Dauray, award winning artist & consummate traveler
Since 2009, Mary Lou has been creating artwork reflecting her concern about man-made climate destruction. She has done a series of paintings about plastic pollution in the oceans, the melting of glacial ice and the mining, transporting and burning of coal. And now she is focusing on the continuing future development of nuclear power plants by international corporate interests. From what I have read, Mary Lou is doing extensive research and her findings scare me – particularly about the very serious ongoing radioactive emissions from the Fukushima Daiichi power plant accident in 2011. She is learning that thyroid cancers are already appearing in children, that radioactive water is being poured into the ocean at an alarming rate and that TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company) is FINALLY starting to come clean about the severity of the Fukushima disaster in other respects as well. Join me to find out what she has learned and how she has committed to help raise awareness through her art and her blogs about a BIG issue we all need to know about.
