How does this company exemplify the concept of “reducing”?

Cat Mountain Lodge is the very definition of eco-friendly, literally from the ground up. From the architecture (insulating the rooms to keep the heat out of the building during the summer, vice versa for the winter), to the rain water harvesting, to the eco-friendly products it uses, CML strives to leave as little of a carbon footprint as possible, thereby “reducing” the effect it has on the environment.

How does this company exemplify the concept of “reusing”?

CML uses organic cotton bedding for all guests. the bedding is reused by washing in eco friendly machines, using biodegradable detergent. CML also reuses rain water collected in cisterns to water the plants around the lodge, and to water the plants in the tortoise enclosure. The solar panels on our roof reuses the solar power that comes naturally from the sonoran sun and converts it into energy to run CML.

What is this company’s recycling policy and practice?

CML strives to recycle as much as possible. In all rooms, guests are encouraged to throw away recyclables in a marked container. The office recycles all recyclable products.

How is this company engaging and informing consumers and employees about the 3 “Rs” and other sustainable practices?

We let all guests know about our green mission statement on our website, when they call, and when they stay at CML. The recycle containers in the room show our guests we want to proactively cut down on human waste by turning our refuse into renewed products. The guests staying at CML are told we use all natural, biodregadable cleaning products to reduce the harmful effects cleaning products have on the environement.
