Tank’s is Southern Arizona’s leader in sustainable construction, demolition, and landscape waste management. Setting a new trend by demonstrating that it is possible to recycle most landscape, construction and demolition debris. Tank’s diverts 100’s of tons of landscape debris from landfills, by processing them into Organic Compost and other landscape materials. Tank’s also recycles a wide variety of manufacturing and household waste materials including foam, plastics, and cardboard.
How does the company engage and inform employees and consumers about sustainability? (500 character max.)
Tank’s supports and attends a wide range of programs and events to promote sustainability and recycling. Through partnerships with U of A and others Tank’s works to educate gardeners and community members a like about healthy soils, recycling, and sustainable management practices. Tank’s employees receive continuous training to expand their knowledge and experience in sustainable business practices, composting, and waste management.
How does the company you are nominating give back to the community? (500 character max.)
Each year Tank’s supports local programs by donating compost, recycling services, and outreach to schools, animal shelters, and community gardens. 2% of the proceeds from every bag of compost sold is donated Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Jason Tankersley, CEO of Tank’s, currently serves as: a board member of Tucson Clean And Beautiful, and is a Commissioner for the City of Tucson’s Small Minority and Woman Owned Business Commission.
