How does the company you are nominating exemplify the concepts of reducing, reusing and recycling? (500 character max.)
Fingers De Freedom Clothing is not only a sustainable workplace but also does community outreach and sustainable workshop and youth recycling programs. In addition, we print on sustainable materials made from: recycled plastic water bottles, organic cotton, recycled acrylics. All of our display cases and workstations are made from reclaimed up cycled wooden pallets.
How does the company engage and inform employees and consumers about sustainability? (500 character max.)
FdeF’s community recycling program, Billion Bottles Program, has a 3 year track record of educating/ providing recycling solutions to schools and local businesses. All employees and interns must complete an in depth course in plastic pollution awareness and the process of converting plastic into wearable materials.
How does the company you are nominating give back to the community? (500 character max.)
As mentioned above, we’ve worked with organizations such as Goodwill, United Way, TUSD and charter school to educate our youth about the plastic epidemic plaguing our planet and how we can participate in the solution. In some cases we provide recycling bins and arrange pickups and reward programs.
