UA Pac-12 Zero Waste Challenge Homecoming Game

Saturday, October 29 at 12:00 am (PT)

The University of Arizona will be competing in the Pac-12 Zero Waste Football Game Challenge again Saturday Oct. 29 and we need our fans and guests to help us divert more waste from the landfill!

During homecoming weekend, the Wildcats will duke it out on the field with the Stanford Cardinals. Before, during, and after the event, members of several student groups, including Greening the Game, Green Team, compost Cats and Students for Sustainability will work to recycle and compost as much waste as possible.

Last year we won third place in the Zero Waste Challenge, diverting 69% waste from going to landfill. This year we want to score even higher and divert at least 80%.

Help us win the Pac-12 Zero Waste Competition, keep our athletic events green and continue to be leaders in sustainability. For the tailgate and the game, we will have waste diversion stations everywhere, as well as a spirited student team to assist you. Make sure to pick up your trash and bring it to one of our green stations. We will do the rest so you can enjoy cheering on your Wildcats!
