Food Day 2014 is Wednesday, October 22nd, 10-2 pm on the UA Mall.
The University of Arizona Food Day Committee is made up of representatives from across our campus who are passionate about food. We care about health and the environment and are excited to begin planning activities and events that inspire our campus to eat real.
Food Day is a national, grassroots movement toward improving access to healthy, affordable, and sustainable food created by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. In 2011, over 2300 events took place across the country, engaging tens of thousands of Americans in education and civic activism. Food Day has the ultimate goal of strengthening and unifying the food movement and improving food policies by encompassing hunger, nutrition, agriculture policy, animal welfare, and farm-worker justice.
Our campus plays a strong role in this movement. Many departments are working hard to promote healthy, sustainable and affordable food at the UA. By joining together with a shared vision on October 22nd we will promote real food and inspire students, faculty and community members.
