Carson Scholar Eric Magrane – Aired 3/4/14

Eric is a Research Assistant and Carson Scholar at the  Institute of the Environment and a  PhD Student at the School of Geography and Development at the University of Arizona as well as a Poet in Residence, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Eric is working on a book for the University of Arizona Press called A Literary Field Guide to the Sonoran Desert.

Eric is involved with projects at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Biosphere 2, and Tumamoc Hill;  is studying the intersections between art and science by designing projects that combine background as a poet/artist and research as a human geographer; works with Institute of the Environment as a research assistant on art and environment. Writes popular blog/column for Institute of the Environment called Proximities, on art & environment. The Carson Scholars program is designed to build a network of graduate students and faculty devoted to furthering knowledge and awareness of Earth’s natural environment and its interactions with people.
