 Sunday, March 10, 2013, 9:00am – 12pm

Offered through Sonoran Permaculture Guild

Aquaponics is the combination of Aquaculture & Hydroponics.  By utilizing the permaculture design process we can develop sustainable, dynamic, productive, and regenerative systems that incorporate aquaponics into an integrated ecological design.  We will briefly cover the different types of aquaponic systems that exist & discuss the pro’s & con’s of each method and technology. The emphasis of the workshop will be on how to design & build an aquaponic system that will work for you.  Aquaponic design ratios, rules of thumb, the nitrogen cycle, pH, microorganisms, pest management, food production, & food safety will be covered.
