Desert Corner Plant Sale at Tohono Chul Park
Saturday, October 9 at 9 am (PT)
Mark your calendar and plan to attend Tohono Chul’s fall Desert Corner Plant Sale this year; introducing the Atascosa Rock PIxie (Elytraria imbricata) into cultivation.
People often come to the Park and express their wish to grow a garden, but they live in an apartment with only a balcony or in a townhouse with a tiny backyard. We gotcha covered! For years the Park has been looking for beautiful plants for small spaces. The Atascosa Rock Pixie is the first in a series of these plants, none of which will exceed a foot in size.
Tohono Chul will present the usual rogues’ gallery of native and drought-adapted plants, many of them available nowhere else. Come and see the largest selection of Penstemons anywhere in the Southwest, as well as an impressive assortment of cacti, shrubs, wildflowers, trees, herbs, vines and groundcovers.
The plant sale will be open at the east side of the Park just north of the Education Center. There will be a members preview on Wednesday, October 6 at 3-6pm. The public sale will be Saturday Oct. 9, at 9am to 5pm and then on Sun., Oct. 10 from 10am to 4pm.
The park is located at 7366 N. Paseo del Norte. Visit www.tohonochulpark.org or call 520-742-6455 for more details.
