The Green Market
The green market has grown far beyond its roots as a niche, according to a Yahoo! Green Survey conducted in 2008. At the time, 77 percent of consumers identied themselves as “green,” with over half (57 percent) stating they made a green purchase decision in the past six months.
In 2009, Cone Research reported, “34 percent of American consumers indicate they are more likely to buy environmentally responsible products today, and
another 44 percent indicate their environmental shopping habits have not changed as a result of the economy.”
